Job Title: 3rd Line Engineer
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Location: Rotherham
Contract: Permanent, Full time
 
Verus is thrilled to partner with a local MSP in their search for an exceptional 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team. Get ready for an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge infrastructure technologies and make your mark on legacy systems.
 
You won’t be a desk jockey or a clock-watcher; you will enjoy supporting clients face-to-face, creating relationships, and going above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service.
 
What you’ll do:

  • Thoroughly monitor and manage backup systems, infrastructure, and data security
  • Communicate technical issues in a way that anyone can understand
  • Provide top-notch technical support internally and externally
  • Build strong relationships through effective communication at all levels
  • Identify and implement service improvements
  • Prioritize and manage workload to achieve business goals

 
What we’re looking for:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT Support, with a focus on 3rd-line support (preferably in an MSP)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows Server, Exchange Server, Active Directory, Virtual Servers, VMWare or Hyper-V, SharePoint, and Office 365
  • Troubleshooting skills for networking protocols and technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and vLANs
  • Familiarity with daily system checks, servers, backups, firewalls, and anti-virus software
  • Certifications such as MCSE/MCITP Enterprise or Server Administrator
  • Knowledge of VOIP
  • Hands-on experience with IT hardware and software installation, modification, maintenance, and repair
  • Familiarity with mobile technologies (Android/iOS)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude
