Our client, a significant player in the aerospace and manufacturing industry, adheres to the highest standards, including compliance with EN 4179 and in this role, you will play a crucial part in inspecting and testing aerospace products, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you will be doing:
- Inspection and Testing: Provide FPI/DPI/LPI inspections and testing on aerospace products, adhering strictly to EN 4179 Level 2 standards.
- Operational Proficiency: Understand products, set up equipment correctly, and perform NDT operations effectively.
- Evaluation of Test Results: Interpret and evaluate test results, making informed decisions based on your findings.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and in good order.
- Process and Control Checks: Assist with process and control checks to maintain operational efficiency.
- Data Management: Generate new and amend existing Data Cards as required.
- Training Support: Contribute to the training of trainee NDT Operatives.
About You:
We are looking for a highly skilled NDT Level 2 FPI Technician who is self-motivated and possesses excellent planning and organisational skills. You should be adept at problem-solving, multitasking, and have a proven track record in the aerospace, military, or automotive industries.
This role will involve working 3 shifts once trained, with a 2-shift pattern during the training period. **Please note that the night shift will be 1 in 5 weeks**
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- NDT Experience: Demonstrated experience as an NDT technician with logged hours.
- Qualifications: Ideally holding or have held EN4179 or NAS410 certification.
- Technical Interpretation: Capable of interpreting standards and specifications.
- Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential for effective teamwork and documentation of processes.
- Shift Work: Adapt to a 3-shift work pattern, maintaining flexibility and reliability.

- The role is a 2-shift pattern during training (Mornings and afternoons) and includes a 12.5% shift premium, taking your salary to £40,022.45.
- Once training is completed, you will move on to a 3 Shift Pattern (1 Nights in 5 weeks) and this will take your salary to £41,623.35.
