Junior PHP Developer – Sheffield
Full-time, Permanent (on-site) £18,000-24,000 a year (DOE)

We are working with Sheffield-based app developers, cloud software engineers, web designers & business experts focused on delivering bespoke digital app & cloud software solutions. From bespoke apps for iOS and Android to complex CRM’s and cloud business systems, the team will help your organisation develop software that meets your bespoke business needs and requirements.
The successful candidate will join the team operating from the Sheffield-based office and is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident, highly motivated Graduate or Junior PHP Developer to join the team. 

This junior position offers a salary package of between £18,000 to £24,000 per annum dependant on experience, and offers other benefits including Health Scheme, 23 days paid holiday per year + statutory days, an excellent working environment, free parking.

This is an excellent opportunity as you will be working closely with senior developers learning how applications are structured & connect with each other. You’ll be assigned various tasks to build new features & maintain the existing codebase.

The ideal Graduate /Junior PHP / Laravel developer will have experience in building apps with PHP frameworks and SQL skills. 

  • Writing scalable, secure, reusable and testable code
  • Maintaining & optimising existing codebases in both modern and legacy PHP projects
  • Managing DB systems of large scale and demand
  • Contributing to all aspects of a development lifecycle


  • Knowledge of PHP 7/8 (OOP, MVC and use of frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony or Zend)
  • Knowledge of JS frameworks such as Angular, React, Ember or VueJS
  • Understanding of Nodejs
  • Used MySQL
  • Experience with RESTful APIs (JSON, XML)

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Cordova
  • Knowledge of PHP Smarty
  • Good understanding of iOS/Android OS
  • Understanding of Gulp workflow automation
  • Experience with source control (ideally Git & Github)
  • Exposure to Test Driven Development
  • eCommerce Experience
  • Linux administration

  • Ideally 12 months of commercial experience
