With Christmas just around the corner (we are the first to ignore Christmas songs and displays in November), we really wanted to give something back this year, and if we have learned anything this year, it’s that the family and support network is EVERYTHING, which is why we’re very proud to be able to announce our 2020 Christmas appeal.
Just like last year, we have teamed up with 2 fantastic charities in our local area and will be opening up the appeal to local businesses and individuals to help us raise money or donate new toys for local families facing critical illness, domestic issues or those who are living in poverty this Christmas. For a lot of the children in these families, this could be the only gift they receive over the festive period.
Our Charities:
The Snowdrop Project is a Sheffield based charity, which provides long-term support to empower survivors of human trafficking to move on from their past.The pandemic has thrown up new and complex challenges for the survivors of trafficking, and we aim to support the Snowdrop Project continue the excellent work they are doing via caseworkers, counselling, education & employment, housing support, training and providing community activities.
The Create a Dream Foundation help seriously ill children and young people in the Sheffield and South Yorkshire region. Their aim is to provide support to children and their families during a child’s illness, as well as ensuring that families are still able to make wonderful and long-lasting memories by making their child’s dreams come true. Dealing with a life-threatening and terminal illness is heart-breaking for both a child and their families. This can often mean countless hospital stays, painful treatments and a loss of a childhood, something which most children take for granted.
